Your Character Portrait

Character Page Template was an sample page made to help people writing their own Characters a page. Though not an actual person, they still proved an invaluable resource for those wanting to historicise what happened to key individuals before the Fall, during The Fall, and afterwards. Everything that came before this sentence is the kind of information one might include on the 'blurb' of their character, a brief run-down of who they are/were and what they do/did. Note that their character portrait is to the right of the page, the coding of which can be found below. We would prefer character portraits to be of a traditional fantasy-esque nature suitable for this kind of game. There are plenty of resources available online to help you find your character's portrait. We will also allow pictures of the player dressed in the character's costume. It is also worth noting that the table of contents will be automatically added by the wiki if you exceed a certain number of headers within your page.

Early Life

In this section one writes as much or as little about their character's early life as they wish. Remember that none of the information put on the wiki for player characters is to be treated as common information, so this purely serves as a deposit for one's back story. For those who want to keep their character's backstory to themselves, phrases such as 'no records appear of Character until after the Fall' or 'where Character came from originally is not strictly known', but by all means put some speculation up there ('they have a notable Lancesian accent' or 'their skin shows signs of being exposed to severe weather conditions').

The Fall

The Fall is the unifying event in every character's life and is (probably) what brought them to Starkholm. Though it was a retreat from an absolutely destructive force the likes of which had never been seen before, there is still plenty to be noted as to how each character experienced the Fall. Did they retreat from the outset along with loved ones and never saw glimpse of the Legion? Was their village sacked by the Legion and they saw such atrocities as the creation of the Assimilated? Were they involved with combat? And if so, how on Ereda did they survive? The History section has a timeline of the events of the Fall.

Present Day

In this section one writes about their character's experiences with the Outriders. What motivated them to join? What have their experiences in the Outriders been? Who do they consider their friends? Have they been affected by the death of any Outrider in particular? This also becomes a 'what are they up to now' section and can include what they are doing today, any professions or hobbies they have, and where they can most often be found.

The Coding

Below is a version of the page without Wiki formatting, so you can see the coding that is used throughout. Notice how character pages do not open with the character name actually in the page - the wiki will put that in bold at the top of the page for you.
